October

Y’all, it arrived... October! I have been saying this for a few months, I am looking forward to the cooler weather !

We had a great start to the month with coffee with the Pastor and Bible study. Then the evening started out with a Shabbat service “Yom Kippur” and “Memorial Covenant.” Bringing in the elements of covenant, wedding, and the cross. We were thankful for all that attended!

This month is the month for Sukkot, we will be starting very soon, keep your ears open so you don’t miss anything. There will be meals, camping in our temporary dwellings, fellowship, and laughter, as we find out how it was for God’s people in the wilderness, but with a few comforts of home and a grill!

We have been blessed with visitors, most of whom have stayed, and we are glad to have each and everyone of you. We look forward to growing in God’s word with you. We’ll will have a first this Shabbat, an immersion ceremony for two of our men. We have set the time up with Jesus House, they are having an immersion for several people on Sunday. What a great way to start the month off!

I am excited to see more people accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and then seeing them follow up with immersion. PRAISE THE LORD OF HEAVEN!

As a lot of the world is talking about recent events, we are seeing countries profess to following Christ. There is still a long way to go. Please keep the missionaries that are on the mission fields close and covered in prayer. There are still places in the world that following Christ can get you killed.

We are into the fall feasts and looking forward to Yom Kippur and then Sukkot which is the Feast of Tabernacles/Booths. During this time, we have the Eighth assembly and conclusion with Simchat Torah which is the rejoicing in the Torah. I have never felt right about the Simchat Torah dance, it seems odd to me to kiss the Torah and dance with it. Until the Holy Spirit really gets ahold of me to do this, I am going to refrain from it. In years past, I have felt pressure from Rabbi’s, and some in the congregation to do this. This year is different, I have grown stronger in my understanding and the Holy Spirit has not led me to do this. We are looking forward to Sukkot and staying in our temporary dwellings. I have been watching the weather for the week of Sukkot. After all the dry days we have had, it looks as if it will rain most, if not every day.

I look forward to growing in God’s word with each and everyone of you!

In love, In Christ, Shalom ~ Pastor Tim
