November
WELCOME TO NOVEMBER! Not only did we change months, we have gained an hour as well through our annual fall back one hour. The Florida farmers get an hour of light in the morning but lose 3 hours of light in the afternoon. I don’t know about you, but I like gaining light rather than losing it. It reminds me of Psalm 27:1 — "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?" There was a time in my life that I had feared something that lived under my bed; then when it was not there, it moved to my closet. My mom was big on the closet door being shut, she later regretted that. I soon learned to clean my room by stuffing everything in the closet and making the door close. Later in life, I noticed that my boys did the same thing. Then I grew up and forgot all about anything under my bed until my daughter joined our family. We taught her not to fear because Jesus was always closer to her, even when Mom and Dad were just down the hall.
As we grow to grown, we have other things to worry about, or do we? As Christ Followers, we should put Him first in our lives. But do we really? Because if we did, we would not worry about anything! Part of the old self dying, means that we are new in Him. What I have figured out in my years, that we did not completely submit to Him. You see, we need to find out now how to completely surrender to Him! We should work our life around Him, and not have our lives and only work Him into what we are doing. I notice that we all do this from time to time, Oh,” I want” so “I get” and then, “Jesus, please bless this”. We have the biggest example that we see every day and never think about it, maybe we have just become too smart. We see the sun every day, the planets revolve around the sun, this should remind us that we are to have the Son in the center of our life, and we revolve around Him. This brings love into us.
The last teaching of October was about working within the Church body, “what can I do for my brothers and Sisters”?
Please be in Prayer about these things.
Cleaning the building: Dusting, vacuuming, cleaning the rest rooms and stocking, (TP, soap, paper towels) Cleaning the kitchen, removing the out of dates from the fridge, putting the bowls and silverware in proper places, taking the dirty towels home, washing them and bringing them back. Knocking down cobwebs, cleaning the tables off after Oneg (food & fellowship). Sweeping the floors...
We are looking for elders, Shabbat kid teachers, and people to tell us what they like to do. Can you play a keyboard? Do you play a guitar? Or any musical instrument?
It takes all of us to keep Gods House looking great and standing for His Kingdom!
Please remember that Wednesday mornings at 10 AM coffee with the Pastor is a great way to get to get to know your Pastor. We have some great talks!
In His Love,
Pastor Tim
